Ray I. Adams, 81, of Street, MD, died peacefully at home with his loving family by his side on Sunday, May 29, 2022. Ray was born in East Laporte, NC, to his late parents William Allen Adams and Teresa Louise (Hooper) Adams. He is survived by his loving wife Dixie C. Adams.
After graduating high school, Ray worked for many years at the former General Motors Corporation. After retirement, he worked for Harford County in the highway department. He was a loving man, strong and faithful. He and his family worshiped at Franklin Missionary Baptist Church. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved to spend time in God’s creation. He loved to hunt and fish and was at peace on both the land and water.
In addition to his beloved wife, Ray is survived by one daughter, Teresa Fay (Brian) Dill, of Street, MD. He is also survived by one grandson, Brandon Tyler Dill, of Bel Air, MD, and one sister, Hazel Jeanette Bond, of Fallston, MD, many nieces, nephews and extended loving family.
In addition to his parents, Ray was predeceased by one great granddaughter, Aubrey Lee Dill, one brother, George Hamilton Adams and one sister, Martha Mae Smith.
A visitation will be held on Friday, June 3, 2022 from noon until 2 p.m. at Franklin Missionary Baptist Church, 2106 Franklin Church Road, Darlington, MD 21034. The funeral service will begin at 2 p.m. with Pastors Doug Cook and Rick Wilson officiating. Interment will immediately follow at New Bridge Baptist Cemetery, 32 Wyatt Lane, Rising Sun, MD.
