Ronald I. Gatton, age 82 years of Joppa, MD died at 1:41 pm on Wednesday, May 20, 2020 at the University of Maryland Medical Center in Baltimore.Born in Baltimore on January 17, 1938, he was the son of the late Arthur Irvin and Mary Marie (Rappold) Gatton. For over 40 years he owned and operated Quality Produce and Seafood along with the help of his best friend and then wife, Joan. Well known in the Phoenix and Jacksonville, MD area they would also sell flowers from their produce and seafood market at Easter and Mother’s Day.
Although Ron and Joan ran the day to day family business, it did require additional help and his children and grandchildren frequently assisted him.

Mr. Gatton is survived by;

Three children:
Dawn M. Walder-Gatton of Joppa, MD
Christine G. Delcher and her husband, Billy of Street, MD
Charmain Joyce Sharkey and her husband, Lou of Forest Hill, MD

Three grandchildren: M. Wayne Fleischman, MD, Krystal Joan Fleischman, DACM and Melissa Delcher.

One great grandson: Carter Boyd Romaniello

His longtime friend and former wife, Joan Marie Patterson of Forest Hill, MD

His dear aunt, Betty Rappold of Parkville, MD

Ron was preceded in death by his son, Ronnie Irvin Gatton, Jr.

Due to the restrictions currently in place, the family has chosen to postpone their plans for a remembrance service until the limitations are lifted.
