RUBY LEONA WALTERMYER, 89 of Dallastown, PA passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 22, 2019 in her home with her loving sons at her side. She was the beloved wife of the late John Robert Waltermyer who died on October 2, 1997.

On January 19, 1930 in the middle of a Harford County, MD blizzard, the late Mary Emma (Blevins) Comer, the dear wife of the late Charles Guy Comer gave birth to triplets: Ralph, Ruby and Ruth. Charles kept them warm by the fire until the next day when the doctor was finally able to get to the home. Ruby was one of eleven children born to this union and the last child to pass.

Ruby was a talented seamstress, having worked for various sewing factories located in Stewartstown, Fawn Grove, Jacobus and Adamsville, PA, retiring when her late husband did in the mid 1990’s. They both then worked for several years at the Cr’s Friendly Market in Stewartstown. She enjoyed playing cards, was an avid Baltimore Oriole fan and loved to listen to bluegrass/gospel music. Ruby was strong in her Christian faith and was a charter member of Tabernacle Regular Baptist Church in Collinsville, PA. She loved to sing the old hymns and share her faith with her cherished family. Many will remember Ruby as a sweet lady with a great sense of humor and contagious smile.

Bradley Joseph Waltermyer, his wife, Kristen and their children: Natalie and John Bailey of Airville, PA

Our heartfelt condolences to John and family on the loss of your Mother. If I remember correctly, it was Ruby who made the curtains for the church and social hall at Tabernacle Church in Whiteford. She always came to the services that we celebrated at the church where John served as the minister in the years he rented the church. We remember her as a happy and loving woman who was so proud of her family. We are sorry that we were out of state and missed the services. Our thoughts and prayers are with the family. Such a Dear, Sweet Lady! She always had a smile, which always made you smile too. I'm happy for you Aunt Ruby, that you are at peace, with your family in heaven, and celebrating with the Lord. My heart is sad that we will not see your smiling face here on earth anymore, and we'll have to wait to meet you in heaven. But when our turn comes, we will indeed rejoice with you in heaven, with our Lord. Anyone whose life you touched was blessed! Thank you for all your love and kindness.

We will all miss our Aunt Ruby but we do take comfort in knowing that she is home with Uncle Bob and all of her brothers and sisters and loved ones and rejoicing with our Lord. I have many wonderful memories of her that I'll cherish and knew that the world was a better place with her in it. She was the only person I ever knew that could fold a fitted sheet like it just came from the package! Love you always! Kathy, Paul and Justin Brown

Our heartfelt love and prayers, go out to Michael, Johnny and their families at this time of loss. I was proud to be able to call this wonderful lady my Aunt Ruby", because, my Mom and Uncle Bobby were brother and sister. She always had a kind word and a smile, for as far back as I can remember and I loved her dearly.. This world is a better place because Aunt Ruby was in it. Edwina(Tykie) and John
