Obituary for Sarah C. Winkler (Raspe)

Sarah C. Winkler, 81, of Whiteford, MD, died at Stella Maris Hospice Center on Saturday, November 5, 2022. She was born in Baltimore County, MD, to her late parents, Austin William and Eleanor E. (Petrie) Raspe. She was married to her late husband; Theodore Winkler, sharing 48 years of marriage prior to his death in April of 2008.

Sarah was a kind and humble woman, with a fun and jubilant spirit. She was a wonderful homemaker and a blessing to everyone in her family. She loved her Lord and was a faithful worshiper at St. Mary, Pylesville. She worked for the Harford County Public Schools as a cook in the cafeteria at Bel Air High School and North Harford Middle School. In her free time, she enjoyed traveling to Perryville Casino to play the slots with her daughters and son-in-law.

Sarah is survived by her two daughters: Donna (Lester) Stewart, of Fawn Grove, PA and Barbara (Jerry) Heckner, of Whiteford, MD and by her one sister, Glennice (John) Harris, of Fawn Grove, PA. She is also survived by her grandchildren: Steven Stewart, of Glenville, PA, Julie (Kristopher) Wiley, of Fawn Grove, PA, Sarah (Mark) Spencer, of York, PA, Jordan Winkler, of Havre de Grace, MD and Tyler Heckner, of Whiteford, MD. Her great grandchildren: Steven Stewart, Jr, Theodore Walter Stewart, Katy Michelle Stewart, Peyton Marie Wiley, Hunter Spencer, Ryan Spencer and Katylin Spencer will all cherish their memories of Sarah.

In addition to her husband and parents, Sarah was predeceased by her daughter, Sarah C. Bandy. She was also predeceased by her brothers: Louis, William and Gerald Raspe.

A viewing will be held at Harkins Funeral Home, Inc., 600 Main Street, Delta, PA on Thursday, November 10, 2022 from 7-9 p.m. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Friday, November 11, 2022 beginning at 11 a.m. with Deacon Phil Seneschal from St. Mary, Pylesville officiating. Interment will take place immediately following the funeral in Bel Air Memorial Gardens, Bel Air, MD.
