Obituary for Sherman Douglas Mann

On January 15, 1955, Sherman D Mann burst into the world to the safest place he would know, his Mother's arms. Sherman, affectionately known as "Sonny," was born in Havre de Grace, MD.to Edna Branch & Mireo Mann, Sr.
Sherman was raised in Darlington, MD and became a true country MANN. He attended Hosanna AME Church and graduated from Bel Air High School in 1973. Sherman went on to receive an Associate’s degree in Data Processing and then joined the U.S. Army in 1975. Sherman entered Fort Bragg 82nd Airborne Division as a Supply Clerk and worked his way to Staff Sergeant E-6. Sherman went on to become a Paratrooper Basic AIT and attended jump school. Sherman loved the work he did.
Sherman married Lorraine Love in 1989 and the two raised their children, Monalisa, Marvin "Poppa", Mercedes and Aaron all around the world.
Sherman eventually attended Warrant Officer Academy where he moved in ranking from W1-4 before retiring Chief Warrant Officer CW4 in 2011. Sherman then became a private contractor and did civilian work for the U.S. Army until retiring in 2019.
Sherman loved computers, golfing, enjoying a Cigar with his brothers & teaching people, especially golf!! Although Sherman loved to spend time with family he valued his personal time alone, to quietly meditate.

Children: Monalisa, Poppa, Mercedes, Aaron, (Dan, Nick, Ebony)
Grandchildren: Gerald, David, Tashera, and Keisha.
Four great grandchildren
Fourteen siblings: Archie, Richard, Annette, Freida, Allen, Michelle, Priscilla, Denise, Gary, Keith, Milton, Maura, Mireo Jr. & Latrice
Four special brothers from the heart: Terry, Anthony, Lopez, & David.
We could not forget Sir Charlton Mann who probably knew Sonny best.
Sherman was greeted into the spiritual realm by his personal angels, his dad Mireo Sr., grandad Honor Mann, Sisters Vanell, & Elmira, brothers Leon, & Charles, one grandaughter.
A viewing will be held on Friday, March 27 from 6 to 8 pm at the Harkins Funeral Home, 600 Main St., Delta, PA.
There will be no funeral service.
Inurnment will be held at a later date in a national cemetery.
