SHIRLEY IRENE HEAPS, 84 of Pylesville, MD, passed away on Sunday, February 14, 2021 in the Upper Chesapeake Medical Center, Bel Air, MD. She was the beloved wife of Cletus N. Heaps who died on March 29, 2007. At the time of his death, they had shared 51 years of marriage.
Born on September 29, 1936 in Caldwell, WV, she was one of six children born to the late Sidney Herbert and Lucille Irene (Sams) Windon and moved with her family early in her life to southern Pennsylvania. Strong in her Christian faith, she was a longtime member of St. Paul’s Methodist Church in Pylesville and one of her favorite songs was: Jesus Loves Me. Known for her love of children, Shirley always had her family as well as the neighborhood kids in her home. She just loved having little ones around and was always offering to babysit. Shirley enjoyed doing crossword puzzles, jigsaw puzzles and embroidery work and was fond of her cat and her longtime friend-her bird named Crackers. Her family commented that she will be remembered as a loving mother and grandmother; she always placed caring for others before herself.

Mandy I. Teague, Christina K. Brown, Sarah E. Haga, Jenny R. Howdyshell, Lynsey R. Benner and Samantha Bearup.
Thirteen great grandchildren-
Braydn, Lydia, Gracelyn, Eva, Layton, Alayna, Landyn, Kayla, Paul, Dustin, Lillian, Robert and Max.
A brother, Frank J. Windon and his wife, Joan of Jacobus, PA
A sister-in-law, June Windon of Winterstown, PA
She was preceded in death by:
Her infant daughter, Norma Jean Heaps
Her grandsons- Stephen Baker, III and Daniel H. Rhode, Jr.
Her siblings-Herbert Windon, Ed Windon, Ray Windon and Marie Windon.
Services will be private for her family with interment next to her beloved husband, Cletus in St. Paul’s Cemetery, Pylesville, MD.
