Obituary for Thomas Evan Cooper

THOMAS EVAN COOPER, 91 of Kingsville, MD, died on Saturday, December 12, 2020 in the Awakenings of Bel Air. He was the beloved husband of Anne Teresa (Hushon) Cooper who passed in August 2015.

Born on January 14, 1929 in Delta, PA, he was one of three sons born to the late Evan J. Cooper and Susie (Miller) Cooper. Tom was a graduate of the former Delta High School and earned his B.A. degree in 1958 from Penn State. After serving with the U.S. Army from January 1951 – January 1953, he worked as an accountant for Amoco Petroleum Corporation, retiring in the late 1980’s. In retirement, he worked for Courtland Hardware in Bel Air and Harford County Public Schools for over 15 years as a school bus driver.

Tom and his late wife, Anne enjoyed boating and water skiing on Bush River and the Susquehanna River as well as swing dancing. He enjoyed being outdoors, traveling on summer vacations and most recently sitting on the porch at the Awakenings where he was known to wave at everyone. His familiar smile and wave will be missed by all.

Susan Otey of Bristol, TN

Two granddaughters-
Shannon Cooper and Krista Cooper of Kingsville, MD

He was preceded in death by his brothers-Lester Cooper, Eugene Cooper and a granddaughter, Samantha Otey.

A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, December 16, 2020 at 10:30 a.m. in Slate Ridge Cemetery, Griffith and Line Roads, Delta, PA. Please gather under the tent for the service; Pastor Rod Anderson of New Covenant Community Church, Delta, PA will officiate.
