Obituary for Viola Ruth McHone (Hess)
VIOLA RUTH McHONE, age 76 years of Stewartstown, PA died at York Hospital on Thursday, April 2,
2020.
Mrs. McHone was born in Elkins, WV on October 26, 1943, a daughter of the late Darl James and
Edythe Magdalene (Mace) Hess. She worked as an electronics technician, producing circuit boards and various
electronic components until becoming disabled at the age of 50 which prevented her from continuing in her field. Although limited in her mobility, she enjoyed many activities including crafts, especially plastic canvas.
Viola also loved butterflies both in nature and incorporating them into her crafts.
She is survived by,
Two sons: Doug McHone of Clemmons, NC
Mike McHone of southern Maryland
One sister: Carolyn A. Stone and her husband, Allen of Stewartstown, PA
Her longtime friend and caregiver, Wendy Rinehart of York, PA.
Viola is also survived by four grandchildren and one great granddaughter.
She was preceded in death by her siblings, Eloise Thomas and Herbert Hess.
Services will be private.
