Obituary for Woody Crawford

ELWOOD “WOODY” CRAWFORD, 83 of Los Angeles, CA, died on Wednesday, April 6, 2022 with his wife and daughter at his side. Born in York, PA on June 3, 1938, he was a son of the late Elwood and Mildred Crawford and was accepted into the US Naval School of Music in 1956. Woody served 4 years in Annapolis at the Naval Academy. He went on to spend 25 years in the music industry throughout the country, finishing as a national sales manager in Toronto, Canada in 1979.

Woody returned to York where he met his wife, Carol and together they formed the Crawford Construction Corporation in 1984. For the next 28 years, they worked in design, construction as well as interior design for single-family homes in York and Harrisburg, PA as well as in Williamsburg, VA. Woody and his wife moved to Williamsburg where he enjoyed living in the area, building furniture in his workshop, golf, gardening, spending time with his family and friends, and his continued lifelong appreciation of music. The simplest pleasures in life brought great joy to Woody. He will be remembered as a sweet man, kind to everyone he met; he will be greatly missed.

In addition to his wife and best friend, Carol, he is survived by:
A daughter, Amanda (Antonia Davis), granddaughter, Evelyn Swayze; sister, Pat (Earl Brunk) and brother-in-law, Jeffrey (Jo) Tyson.

A private inurnment service will be held for his family in Fawn Grove Cemetery.
