Allen Joseph Adams, 88, of Jarrettsville, MD, died peacefully, surrounded by his loving family on Sunday, April 14, 2024 at Lorien Healthcare in Bel Air, MD. Allen was born in Rocks to his late parents, Earl T. and Hassie Mae (Mink) Adams. He was the devoted husband of Bonita Faye (Sims) Adams, until her death on December 11, 2018.
Allen was a man with an infectious personality, deep faith and a lifelong resident of the northern Harford County area. He worked for 34 years as a Manager with ACME Markets and his spare time enjoyed many different activities; such as, painting, furniture making, gardening and attending and participating in tractor pulls. Allen was also a very talented musician. In his earlier years, he played in a rock band with his brothers. Later in life, after a faith experience, he began to sing gospel music. Allen began traveling with his children as, The Adams Gospel Singers. His faith was nurtured at Chestnut Ridge Baptist Church, where he most recently attended with his family.
Allen is survived by his children; Annette Mullins (Bill), of Jarrettsville, MD, Sandy Riley (Bruce), of Jarrettsville, MD, Ann Klapka (Don), of Jarrettsville, MD, Melissa Ruby (James), of Hampstead, MD, and Jason Adams (Melissa), of Westminster, MD. He is also survived by his siblings; Robert T. Adams, of Jarrettsville, MD, Earl J. (Gladys) Adams, of Ogen, UT, and Phillip G. (Gloria) Adams, of Jarrettsville, MD. Allen will forever be remembered by 13 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.
In addition to his beloved spouse and parents, Allen was predeceased by his siblings, Mary Hensley, Geneva Mulligan, Estella Little, Senia Phillips, Thelma Stamper and O. Wayne Adams.
A visitation with the family will be held on Wednesday, April 17, 2024 from 7:00 pm until 9:00 pm at Harkins Funeral Home, Inc., 600 Main Street, Delta, PA. A funeral service will be held in the chapel of the funeral home beginning at 11:00 am on Thursday, April 18, 2024 with Pastor Don Klapka, of Chestnut Ridge Baptist Church officiating. Interment will immediately follow the funeral in Bel Air Memorial Gardens, Bel Air, MD.
