Alma R. Pierce, age 86 years of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania died at 1:37 p.m. on Tuesday, December 30, 2008 at the Statesman Health and Rehab Center in Levittown.

Miss Pierce was born in Philadelphia on June 25, 1922 a daughter of the late George Everett and Grace Venetta (Clark) Pierce. She worked as a telephone operator for the former Bell Telephone Company in Philadelphia for over 40 years, retiring in 1984. In her younger years, she enjoyed traveling.

She is survived by:

Two sisters: Dorothy M. Stanton and her husband John of Philadelphia

Elmira P. Lovelidge of Delta, Pennsylvania

Also survived by her loving niece and caregiver, Dorothy M. Wilkins, and many other nieces and nephews.

Graveside funeral services and interment will be held on Monday, January 5, 2009 at 1:00 p.m. at Arlington Cemetery, 2900 State Road, Drexel Hill, Pennsylvania.

Reverend Dr. Foster C. Dryden, Jr., pastor of the Riverview Presbyterian Church in Drexel Hill will officiate.
