ANNA BELLE DAUGHTON, 89 of York, PA, formerly of Brogue, PA, died on Saturday, July 22, 2023 in Amorosa Wellness at York. Born on October 11, 1933, in Norrisville, MD, she was one of eleven children born to the late Marion Pierce Comer and Clara Serena (Cole) Comer and grew up on a dairy farm where she met her husband. Married on January 21, 1950, she was the beloved wife for 73 years of Samuel J. Daughton, Sr.

A talented seamstress, Anna had worked for over 2 ½ years at for the former Bata Shoe Company in Abingdon, MD and then for the former Dallco Sewing in Delta for 22 years. Additionally, she had worked for the former Danekar Clock Company in the Benson area of Fallston, MD and 3 years for the local H&R Block Tax Company.

Anna and her husband moved from the Jarrettsville, MD to Brogue, PA in 1979, and they attended Chanceford Alliance Church in Felton, PA. She enjoyed crafting, working jigsaw puzzles, sewing, drawing and writing poetry and songs. Playing Scrabble was a passion. She had a deep love for family, faith in her Lord and was known for her kind heart.

She is survived by:

Three children-Brenda Lee Null (Ken) of Resaca, GA; Samuel J. Daughton, Jr. (Malea) of Jarrettsville, MD and Mary Annette Schuler (Jerry) of Delta, PA. Four siblings: Breece Comer, Barbara Smith, Bob Comer and Pauline Testerman. Her loving grandchildren: Christina Smithson (Donald), Sandra Padgett (Phil), Joy Pelt (Bill), Trish McMillan (Scott) and Don Schuler (Joyce) as well as nine great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by six siblings: Paul Comer, James Comer, Pearl Sturgis, Patti Peck, Lorraine McGrady Plank and Mary Collins.

A viewing will be held on Thursday, July 27, 2023 from 6-8 p.m. at Harkins Funeral Home, 600 Main Street, Delta, PA with the funeral service on Friday morning at 11 a.m. Pastor John Waltermyer will officiate with interment in Bel Air Memorial Gardens, Bel Air, MD.
