Anna Rae Petty, 82, of Darlington, MD, died at her home on Thursday, July 22, 2021 surrounded by her loving family. Mrs. Petty was born on February 22, 1939 in Baltimore, MD to the late George Ross McCann and Mary Rebecca (Morris) McCann. She and her husband Harold shared 57 years of marriage, until his death on January 31, 2014.

Anna attended and graduated from North Harford High School in 1956. She worked for the Harford County Board of Education as a switchboard operator for 27 years. Anna was known as "Sue and then Ganny" and will always be remembered as a kind and caring person. She loved her flowers and any chance to spend time in her garden. She treasured spending time with all of her family on the farm, a place where everyone could gather and she enjoyed attending the sporting events of her children and especially her grandchildren.

Anna is survived by her children; Phillip A. (Donna Leigh) Petty and Rebecca Lynne Dawson of Darlington, MD, Harold Dean (Shana) Petty, Jr, of Street, MD, George Ross (Susan) Petty, of Jarrettsville, MD, Cheryl R. (Robert) Roark, of Bel Air, MD, Kris N. (Jimmy) Hamilton, of Churchville, MD. She is also survived by two sisters, Cathy Beers (Ted Shelsby) and Nancy Achuff, both of Darlington, MD. She was adored by 13 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.

A viewing for Anna will be held on Monday, July 26, 2021 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Harkins Funeral Home, Inc., 600 Main Street, Delta, PA 17314. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, July 27, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Jerry Carr officiating. Interment will be held immediately following the funeral at Dublin Southern Cemetery, Deerfield Road in Darlington, MD.
