Anna Marie Weaver, 84, formerly of Street, MD, died peacefully on Sunday, April 28, 2024 at Lorien Healthcare, Bel Air, MD. Anna was born in Chilhowie, VA, to her late parents, James Leonard and Edith (Barlow) Lett. She was the beloved wife for 68 years to Rev. James E. Weaver, until his death on March 21, 2021.
Anna was a meticulous home maker and loved caring for her flowers and very large garden. The wife of a pastor, she took very seriously her responsibility of prayer, fellowship and sound biblical guidance to many people. She was an excellent cook, serving southern homemade food to anyone who entered her home. Her specialties included; fried chicken, chicken and dumplings, pinto beans, corn bread, banana pudding, watergate salad, blackberry dumplings and many cakes just to name a few, all made with a great big helping of love. Anna loved her family very much, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She and James attended many concerts and sporting events to cheer on their grandchildren. She was always a staunch supporter of her family.
Anna is survived by her children; Carol Joyce and her husband Dennis, of Edgewood, MD, Susan Rohland, of Millersville, PA and Carner "Tommy" Weaver and his wife Renee, of Forest Hill, MD. She is survived by five loving grandchildren; David J. McKinney, Jr. and his wife Amanda, of Rising Sun, MD, Tyler Furlow, of Millersville, PA, Joshua Joyce, of Dundalk, MD, Ryan Furlow and his wife Sarah, of Willow Street, PA and Nick Weaver, of Forest Hill. In addition, she will be lovingly missed by her great grandsons, Troy and Owen McKinney, who loved their Nanny dearly. Her brother, Ray Leonard, of Street, MD, also survives.
In addition to her husband and late parents, Anna was predeceased by her granddaughter Katie Joyce, and her siblings; Shirley Mitchell, Donnie Leonard, Helen Chestnut, Charles Leonard, Louise Hall and Jimmy Leonard.
A viewing will be held on Friday, May 3, 2024 from 11:00 am until Noon at Harkins Funeral Home, Inc., 600 Main Street, Delta, PA. A funeral service will begin in the chapel of the funeral home at noon with Pastor Ricky Blackburn, of Tabernacle Baptist Church is officiating. Interment will occur immediately following the funeral service in Bel Air Memorial Gardens, Bel Air, MD.
