Annie M. Buchanan daughter of the late Gilpin and Alice Rice was born June 26, 1920 in Whiteford, Maryland. She departed this life on August 1, 2010.

She received her Christian training at Trinity AME Zion Church in Delta Pennsylvania. She served on many committees throughout her years at the church. She was a member of the Eastern Star, and Highland Senior Center in her later years. She was a kind, and loving friend to all. She was always willing to lend a helping hand. She will be sincerely missed by everyone who knew her.

She was united in holy matrimony to the late Clifford C. Buchanan on July 23, 1957. Out of their union two children were born: Winston and Cynthia. She was preceded in death by one sister Lucille Rice (deceased) and three brothers: William Rice (deceased), Louis Rice (deceased), Stewart Rice Sr. (deceased).

Annie leaves to cherish her memory two children, one son Winston Buchanan of Whiteford, MD and one daughter Cynthia Handy of Dover, DE, one brother James Rice of York, PA, three grandchildren, Keesha and Alton Griffin, Chenneil Brown and Erin Buchanan, five great granddaughters, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, adopted family and friends.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday August 7, 2010 with a viewing from 11:00 A.M. - 12:00 P.M, followed by the funeral at 12:00 P.M at Trinity A.M.E. Zion Church, 1006 Main Street. Delta, PA 17314
