Aquilla B. (Wilson) Ruple, age 82 years, of Bel Air, MD, and formerly of Delta, PA and Reevesville, SC, died peacefully at Lorien Bel Air, with her children by her side in the early morning hours of Sunday, October 24, 2021. She was the wife of the late John Henry Ruple, Sr.

Born in Sumter, SC on September 6, 1939, she was one of sixteen children of the late Rev. George T. Wilson, Sr. and the late Willie (Farris) Wilson.

She is survived by children from a previous marriage to Johnnie R. Barker – her daughter Beth R. (Barker) Powers of Delta, PA, and her son, Timothy O. Barker and his wife, Charlene, of Fort Myers, FL.

She is also survived by three grandchildren, Jonathan H. Powers, of Delta, PA, Gena Welker and her husband, Jay, of Fort Myers, FL, and Chris Smith and his wife, Amy, of Fort Myers, FL.

She is also survived by four great-granddaughters - Evelyn, Cailyn, Lily, and Adriane, and three sisters - Ann Hanvey of Manning, SC, Carolyn Goodwin of Cottageville, SC, and Georgie Lyons of Searcy, AR.

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Donna Lee Barker, on June 7, 1966, and her son-in-law, Richard M. Powers, on September 29, 2020.

Aquilla spent most of her life as a homemaker, enjoying cooking, sewing, the outdoors, and was very fond of music. She played the piano and sang beautifully, and for many years was part of a gospel-singing group, "The Wilson Trio", along with her late brother, Franklin Wilson, and his wife, Dot.

Interment with a private graveside memorial service will be held in Graniteville, SC at the convenience of the family.
