AUDREY B. McLAUGHLIN, age 94 years, of Dallastown, Pennsylvania, formerly of Delta, Pennsylvania, died on Friday, April 11, 2008 at Dallastown Nursing Center. She was the wife of G. Edwin McLaughlin who died in 1987.

Mrs. McLaughlin (Audrey Isabel Bitner) was born on July 29, 1913 in Chambersburg, Pennsylvania. She was a daughter of the late George H. and Charlotte (Ludwig) Bitner. After she graduated from Chambersburg High School in 1939, Wilson College and from Juniata College in 1936, she moved to Delta. She taught Home Economics at the former Delta High School. She married Eddie McLaughlin and began raising her family. She and her late husband owned and operated the former Central Restaurant in Delta in the late 1940's. During the 1950's, the restaurant was closed, and she intermittently taught at the Red Lion Area High School and Kennard Dale High School in Fawn Grove, Pennsylvania. She baked pies for the former Jady's Restaurant and catered several wedding receptions. She was a member of Slate Ridge Presbyterian Church for seventy years. Mrs. McLaughlin liked to cook, bake, sew, play cards and games, and took pride in being a homemaker. She was a wonderful, loving caring mother, grandmother and great grandmother.

Eight grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren

Numerous loving nieces and nephews

She was preceded in death by her siblings- Dorothy Van Nimwegen, Walter Bitner, George Bitner, Nevin Bitner, Freida Richmond and Richard Bitner.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 19, 2008 at 2 PM at Harkins Funeral Home, 600 Main Street, Delta, Pennsylvania with visitation beginning at 1:30 PM.

Reverend Dr. Eddie Miller of Aseracare Hospice, York, Pennsylvania will officiate.
