Barbara Katharine Lane, 86, of Felton, Pennsylvania, passed away peacefully on September 4, 2026, surrounded by her loving family.

Barbara was born on January 25, 1940, in Fawn Grove, Pennsylvania, to the late Wilson Mitchell and Katharine Mitchell (née Throne).

She was the beloved wife of Richard Lane and the loving mother of Shauna VanHart and her companion, Joseph Freese. Barbara was a devoted grandmother to Marvin L. VanHart III and his wife, Adrianna; Tiffany VanHart; and the late Richard VanHart.

She was also the proud great-grandmother of Arianna VanHart, Serenity Boyd, Nathaniel “Bubby” VanHart, Kylie VanHart, Betty Tawney, and Quentin VanHart.

Barbara is also survived by her sisters, Ethel Lenzi and Ellen Anderson.

A longtime member of Mt. Olivet United Methodist Church, Barbara’s faith and her family were important parts of her life. In her free time, she enjoyed watching NASCAR, John Wayne, and classic Western movies.

Barbara will be remembered for the love she shared with her family and for the many memories that will continue to be cherished by those who knew and loved her.

At the request of the family, services will be held privately.
