Barbara Wheeler Hoke, age 88 years, of Kennett Square, PA, died at her home on Sunday, August 29, 2021. She was the wife of Donald Smith Hoke who died on July 21, 2014. Born in Cardiff, MD, on October 11, 1932, Barbara was one of two daughters of John Milford and Dorothy (Heaps) Wheeler. She was a graduate of the former Beaver College, now Acadia University in Glenside, PA. Barbara was a devoted mother, wife to the love of her life Don for 59 years, educator, woman of strong faith, and a dear friend to many. She will be remembered for her sharp wit, endless positivity, selfless giving spirit and how she cherished every moment with her family. In her final days, she was surrounded by her adoring children, grandchildren and great grandchildren sharing love, laughs and beautiful memories.

She is survived by four children:

Steve Hoke and his wife, Carol of Horsham, PA

Brian Hoke and his wife, Debbie of Union Springs, NY

Susan Courtney and her husband, Steve of Seabrook Island, SC

Laurie Downs and her husband, Brian of Greenwich, CT

Also seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren

A sister, Jean Huskin of Hanover, PA

Barbara will be inurned next to her husband in Slate Ridge Cemetery, Delta, PA in a private ceremony.
