BEN EVAN McLEOD, Jr., age 79 years of Glen Arm, Maryland died at 2:30 a.m. on Wednesday, December 5, 2007 at the St. Joseph Medical Center in Towson, Maryland. He was the husband of Elizabeth (Danner) McLeod. They observed their 56th wedding anniversary on June 16, 2007.

Mr. McLeod was born in Georgetown, South Carolina on March 14, 1928 a son of the late Ben Evan and Mamie (Parham) McLeod. After graduating from Clemson A&M with a degree in electrical engineering, he entered the U.S. Army, serving as an officer in wartime Korea. Following the service, he was employed in 1952 by Standard Oil, retiring as the Mid-Atlantic Marketing Manager for Exxon in 1985. He was a Deacon and adult Sunday school teacher at Long Green Baptist Church of Glen Arm, Maryland for many years.

Betsy M. Craft and her husband Jack of York, Pennsylvania

Two grandchildren: Jeremiah and Eliana Craft, also of York

One sister: Joyce McLeod of Georgetown, South Carolina

A memorial service will be held on Monday, December 10, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. at the Long Green Baptist Church, 13010 Manor Road, Glen Arm, MD 21057.

Pastor Kevin T. Crawford will officiate.

Interment will be private.

There will be a visitation held at the church on Sunday, December 9th from 2:30 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.

In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the church at the above address
