BETTY FORD CLARK, 79 years of Airville, PA, died on Saturday, December 26, 2015 at the Shrewsbury Lutheran Home. She was the wife of the late John "Milt" Milton Clark, Jr.
Born on October 25, 1936 in Norrisville, MD, she was a daughter of the late Harry Melvin and Elsie Mae (Hulshart) Ford and a 1954 graduate of North Harford High School in Pylesville, MD. Betty had a beautiful soprano voice, singing in the high school chorus and with the church choir of Chanceford Presbyterian Church where she had been a member since 1955. Mrs. Clark was also active with the 8 O'clock Circle, loved gardening and tending her flower beds. A homemaker, her most precious times were spent watching her grandchildren.
She is survived by:
Two sons-both of Airville,
Kevin F. Clark and his wife, Elizabeth (Beth)
John William (Bill) Clark and his wife Michelle
Five grandchildren-
Angela M. Clark
Taylor Renae Clark
Kristen Wirtz and her husband, Ken
Lindsey B. (Clark) Kress and her husband, Seth
Brandon Hrebik and his wife, Shannon
Five great grandchildren-
Madison, Ethan and Katherine Wirtz; Natalie and Aubrey Hrebik
Her former husband, Samuel Tharpe
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Kathy Clark Hrebik and siblings-
Edna Mae Ford, William Melvin Ford, Harry Lester Ford, Jean Melvene Ford and Harold Keith Ford.
Services will be held on Wednesday, December 30, 2015 at Chanceford Presbyterian Church, 1787 Woodbine Road, Airville, PA. Visitation will be held from 10:30 a.m. till noon followed immediately with the funeral service at noon with Reverend James B. Shuler of Pine Grove Presbyterian Church officiating. Interment will be in the adjoining church cemetery next to her late husband, Milt.
