BETTY RUTH HESS, age 71 years, of Pylesville, Maryland died on Saturday, December 2, 2006 at her home. She was the wife of Henry C. Hess and on September 1, 2006 they celebrated their fifty-second wedding anniversary.

Mrs. Hess was born on September 1, 1935 in the Norrisville area of Harford County, Maryland. She was a daughter of the late Kermit John and Bessie (Brooks) Bonham. Mrs. Hess had lived in the Pylesville area for the past fifty-five years. She was employed for ten years at the former Bata Shoe Company in Belcamp, Maryland. She was a member of the Sharon Freewill Gospel Baptist Tabernacle in Jarrettsville, Maryland. She enjoyed gardening and cooking.

Norma Jean Arbaugh and her husband, Charles of Darlington, Maryland

Six grandchildren and eight great grandchildren

Marvel Bonham and his wife, Juanita of Uniontown, Pennsylvania

James C. Bonham and his wife, Kathy of Jarrettsville

Three sisters-

Ethel Zornes and her husband, David of Orlando, Florida

Nancy Hendricks of Dobson, North Carolina

Mary Fuller and her husband, Terry of Havre de Grace, Maryland

Numerous loving nieces and nephews

She was preceded in death by a grandson, Timothy Hill.

All services will be held at Sharon Freewill Gospel Baptist Tabernacle, 3025 Sharon Road, Jarrettsville, Maryland.

Visitations with the family will be held on Wednesday, December 6th from 7-9 PM and on Thursday, December 7th from 10 - 11 AM, also at the church.

The funeral service will follow the visitation on Thursday, beginning at 11:00 AM with her pastor, Reverend Alvin Williams officiating.

Interment will be in Slate Ridge Cemetery, Delta, Pennsylvania

Pallbearers will be Carl Eugene Hess, Michael Hess, Kevin Hill, Steven Arbaugh, Curtis Dunaway and Dwayne Young.
