BETTY L. (WAYNE) COLE, age 72 years of Conowingo, MD died on Sunday, January 5, 2014 at Lorien Riverside in Belcamp, MD. She was the wife of Reverend Walter Cole who passed away on August 6, 2000.

Born on January 7, 1941 in York, PA, she was a daughter of the late James Everett and Eva (Gunther) Wayne and was a 1959 graduate of Kennard Dale High School in Fawn Grove, PA. Graduating from Franklin Square School of Nursing in 1962, Mrs. Cole had worked as a registered nurse, retiring in 1994 from the VA Medical Center in Perry Point, MD. Mrs. Cole had been awarded "Mother of the Year" in

1982-83 by the Blazers Majorette & Drum Corps.

She is survived by:

James Everett Wayne, Jr. of Timonium, MD

Ronald Lee Wayne of Airville, PA

Nine grandchildren and a great grandson

She was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Amanda Irene Cassell and a brother, Dennis Michael Wayne.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, January 9, 2014 at 11 a.m. at Harkins Funeral Home, 600 Main Street, Delta, PA with Pastor Rodney Stamper of Bethany Baptist Church officiating.

Entombment will be at Harford Memorial Gardens, Aberdeen, MD.

Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service.
