BLANE H. MILLER, age 85 years of Darlington died at Union Memorial Hospital in Baltimore at 9:35 a.m. on Wednesday, November 5, 2008. He was the husband of Marguerite A. (Baker) Miller who died on November 5, 2007.

Mr. Miller was born in Ashe County, North Carolina on June 26, 1923 a son of the late William and Laura (Mahaffey) Miller. He retired in 1988 as a burner first class from the former Wiley's Shipyard where he worked for over 30 years. He enjoyed woodworking and building bird houses and was an avid dog lover.

He is survived by:

Eight children: James Steltz and his wife Cheryl of Street, MD

Betty Spurlin and her husband Keith of Port Deposit, MD

Cherry Lemly and her husband Barry of Darlington

Joseph Miller of Port Deposit

Mark Miller, William Miller, Michael Miller, all of Darlington

Terry Miller and his wife Mary of Delta, PA

Also survived by numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Ellsworth Miller and his wife, Evelyn; Ernest Miller and his wife, May; Shirley Blankenship and her husband, Okey; Madalin Lamb; Mary Krick and husband, Frank, all of Harford County

He was preceded in death by two sons, Blane Miller, Jr. and Christopher Miller and a brother Leonard Miller.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, November 10 at 11:00 a.m. at the Harkins Funeral Home, 600 Main St., Delta, PA.

Pastor James Johnson of Dublin United Methodist Church will officiate.

Interment will be in Dublin Southern Cemetery, Darlington.

Pallbearers will be Richard Baker, Mark Testerman, Michael Miller, William Miller, Terry Miller and Mark Miller.
