CARLO LUIGI LOPEZ, age 64 years of York, PA died at his home at 2:10 p.m. on Thursday, October 23, 2008. He was the husband of Yvonne Marie (Harrington) Lopez. They observed their fourth wedding anniversary on June 11, 2008.
Mr. Lopez was born in Naples, Italy on January 30, 1944 a son of the late Joseph Louis and Mary Luisa Lopez. He graduated from James Madison High School in Brooklyn, New York, American Para Legal Assn. in Los Angeles and El Reno Junior College in El Reno, Oklahoma. Fluent in five languages, he served with the U.S. Marine Corps at the Cuban Crisis and in Southeast Asia where he spent three years as a P.O.W. Mr. Lopez was employed by Wells Bros. Trucking in York. In the past he had worked for F&C Trucking, York; Fypon, Ltd. In Stewartstown, Bentzel Construction in York, P&A Trucking in Joplin, Missouri, Appalachian Brewing Company in Harrisburg and C&J Enterprises in Dover, PA. His memberships include the Harley Owners Group, the American Legion and the Vietnam Era Veterans Assn. in El Reno, Oklahoma where he was a founding member and received the Humanitarian of the Year Award in 1986 and 1987.
Carlo received numerous awards and citations in his life. He participated in the David Milliken Derr, Jr. Memorial Toy Run to raise money for toys for cancer patients in Hershey Medical Center. Also "Locks of Love", an organization for donating hair to be made into wigs for cancer patients. He enjoyed time spent riding his Harley Davidson and spending time with a few close friends. He was constantly giving to the homeless as well as anyone in need. Carlo loved his family greatly and enjoyed spending quality time with his wife, Yvonne. He is, and will forever be loved greatly and missed beyond measure.

Also survived by two grandchildren and eleven step grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, October 28 at 11:00 a.m. at the Harkins Funeral Home, 600 Main Street, Delta, PA.
Dr. Allen Hall, pastor of the Good News Free Will Baptist Church in York and his brother in law, Pastor John A. Harrington, assistant pastor of New Beginning Baptist Church in Peach Bottom will officiate.
Military honors will be presented by the York County Veterans Honor Guard.
Interment will be private.
Viewings will be held on Monday evening from 7 to 9 p.m. and Tuesday from 10 - 11 a.m.
