CARRIE MAE (SPEARS) HOLCOMB FARRINGTON, 94 of Port Deposit, MD, died in her home on Friday, November 24, 2023. She was born on May 26, 1929 in North Wilkesboro, NC to the late Lewis A. Spears and Bertha (Cornett) Spears. She was the loving wife of the late Evert Paul Holcomb for 28 years who died in 1974 and the late Orville E. Farrington for 21 years who passed away in 2004.
Carrie had a strong faith in God, nurtured her family in her Christian home, and was known to think of others before herself. She was a member of New Bridge Baptist Church in Colora, MD and will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. Her family and friends brought her joy and loving comfort.
She is survived by: her daughter, Tonia R. (Holcomb) Ball (Michael) of Port Deposit, MD; granddaughters, Emily Ball of Chapel Hill, NC and Hannah Ball of Havre de Grace, MD; step-grandson, Thomas Farrington, Jr. of Germany and his family. Additional family members: siblings, James Spears (Arlene) of Wilkesboro, NC, Larry Spears (Deanna) of Purlear, NC and Geri Cook of Palm Coast, FL; nephews, Kenny, Rodney, and Charles Spears and Gene Absher, Jr.; nieces, Rita Cubert, Teresa Spears and Penny Dancy; Dawn Holston (Michael) of Bel Air, MD who was the daughter of her heart.
She was preceded in death by her son, Ronnie Lee Holcomb; grandson, Bradley Ball; stepson, Thomas Farrington; nephew, Eddie Spears; siblings Edgar, Albert, Wayne and Willard Spears and Winnie Beshears; and brothers-in-law, Lary Cook and Noah Beshears.
Services will be held on Saturday, December 2, 2023 at Harkins Funeral Home, 600 Main Street, Delta, PA with a visitation from 12 – 1 p.m. followed immediately with the funeral service. Dr. David Burke of Mt. Pleasant Church, Colora, MD will officiate. Interment will be held in Bel Air Memorial Gardens.
