CARRIE A. STEWART, age 77 years of Airville died on Wednesday, August 15, 2007 at the York County Hospital and Home. She was the wife of Robert R. Stewart who died on April 7, 2007.

Mrs. Stewart was born on January 10, 1930 in the Collinsville area of lower York County a daughter of the late James C. and Helen B. (Miller) Stewart. A lifelong resident of York County, she was a longtime member of the Chanceford Presbyterian Church where she had served as assistant treasurer. For many years she served as treasurer of the Chanceford Cemetery Association.

As the wife of a farmer, Mrs. Stewart kept busy assisting her husband in the operation of the farm. She also served as bookkeeper, both for the farm and for other businesses and organizations. She enjoyed cooking and gardening and loved her flowers.

She is survived by:

One daughter-Patricia Shearer and her husband, Jay of Airville

Two grandchildren-

Amy Shearer of Palmyra, Pennsylvania

Adam Shearer of Airville

Numerous nieces, nephews and cousins

One son-Michael Stewart

She was preceded in death by her sister, Loureda M. Stewart Stephens

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 18 at Chanceford Presbyterian Church, 56 Woodbine Road, Airville.

Her pastor, Reverend Harry R. Robinson will officiate.

Visitation with the family will be held from 10 to 11 a.m.
