CATHERINE ANNE HALSTED, age 52 years of Delta, PA, died in her home on Thursday, January 9, 2014. Born on August 5, 1961 in Havre de Grace, MD, she was a daughter of the late Roger L. and Doris (Carroll) Halsted.

Cathy was currently employed with Aberdeen Proving Ground, working for 30 years as an Engineer Technician. She was a lifetime resident of Delta and was a 1979 graduate of Kennard-Dale High School. In addition to her skills as a basketball player, during her senior year she won the state championship for girls AA discus. She enjoyed watching Penn State and Pittsburgh Steelers football games and going to casinos. Cathy worshiped at Delta Chapel Bible Methodist.

She is survived by:

A brother, Benjamin G. Halsted, Sr. and his wife, Karen of Delta, PA

Two sisters-

Jane Skaggs of Darlington, MD

Lynne Griest and her husband, Jake of Airville, PA

Two nieces and three nephews.

She was preceded in death by her son, James E. Sadler, Jr. in 2008.

A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, January 18, 2014 at 2 p.m. at Mt. Nebo United Methodist Church, 962 Flintville Road Delta, PA with her pastor, Reverend Carlton Ballard officiating.
