CATHERINE E. MYERS, age 98 years, of Delta, Pennsylvania died on Sunday, October 29, 2006 at the Ware Presbyterian Village in Oxford, Pennsylvania. She was the wife of Delmer L. Myers who died on January 25, 1963.
Mrs. Myers was born on October 24, 1908 in Lower Chanceford Township, York County, Pennsylvania a daughter of the late S. Walter and Elsie (Pomraning) Snyder. As a child, she attended Pine Grove Presbyterian Church in Airville. She later became a member and former deacon of Slateville Presbyterian Church in Delta. She worked for twenty-four years as a cafeteria worker for the South Eastern School District. She also was a member of Penn Mary Chapter #72, Order of Eastern Star in Cardiff, Maryland.
She is survived by:
Three sons-
James W. Myers of Pennsville, New Jersey
Donald L. Myers of Delta
Kenneth A. Myers of Street, Maryland
Two daughters-
Beverly Martin of Ft. Worth, Texas
Barbara J. Kunkle of North East, Maryland
Two brothers-
Samuel W. Snyder of Bel Air, Maryland
Lewis E. Snyder of Delta
Fourteen grandchildren, twenty-seven great grandchildren, two great-great grandchildren, four step great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Isabel McLaughlin on November 2, 2000 and a sister, Ruth T. Mount.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, November 3, 2006 at 11:00 a.m. at Harkins Funeral Home, 600 Main Street, Delta.
Her pastor, Reverend John W. Craft will officiate.
Interment will be in Pine Grove Cemetery, Airville, Pennsylvania.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, November 2, 2006 from 7-9 p.m. at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Slateville Presbyterian Church General Fund, PO Box 657 Delta, Pennsylvania 17314.
Pallbearers will be her grandchildren-Ralph McLaughlin, John Myers, Gregory Myers, Richard Myers, Kenneth Myers, Keith Myers, Bradley Martin and Garth Kunkle.
