CHARLES E. BARBEN, SR., age 91 years, of Whiteford, Maryland died on Monday, October 22, 2007 at the Bel Air Health & Rehabilitation Center. He was the husband of Margaret V. (Thompson) Barben who died on September 4, 1984.

Mr. Barben was born on February 11, 1916 in Whiteford, Maryland a son of the late Warren Leo and Cora Mae (Cantler) Barben. He had worked for the Henry Clay Farm and then for the former Robinson Brothers Farm Equipment Dealership in Delta, Pennsylvania. He retired from Miller Chemical Company at the Whiteford, Maryland location. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening and yard work.

He is survived by:

Charles E. Barben, Jr.; Betty M. Gray; Ronnie L. Barben; Daniel L. Barben; all of Whiteford

A brother, Joe Barben of Elkton, Maryland

A sister, Alice Morris of Delta, Pennsylvania

Nine grandchildren, sixteen great grandchildren and one great great-granddaughter.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, October 25, 2007 at 2 PM at Harkins Funeral Home, 600 Main Street, Delta, Pennsylvania.

Reverend Donna C. Snodgrass, pastor of Mt. Vernon United Methodist Church of Whiteford will officiate.

Interment will be in Slate Ridge Cemetery, Delta, Pennsylvania.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday evening from 7 to 9 PM at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Tom Gray, Jr.; Paul Gray; Sam Gray; Charles E. Barben, III; Matt Barben; Steve Barben; Chad Barben.
