CHARLES M. COOLEY of Darlington, Maryland died on March 4, 2011. Born in Darlington, Maryland on July 12, 1924, he was the son of the late John M. Cooley and Lillian Robey Cooley.
Mr. Cooley graduated from Bel Air High School in the Class of 1941. He retired from Chesapeake and Potomac Telephone Company after 37 years of service.
He had served as a Sergeant T/4 with the 613th Ordinance Battalion in the European Theater of Operations in WWII from 1943 to 1946.
Mr. Cooley was a member of Grace Memorial Episcopal Church in Darlington, a member of the American Legion Bel Air Post #39 and the Telephone Pioneers.
Mr. Cooley is survived by his wife of 53 years, Verneal K. Cooley.

Susan L. Cooley, Margaret A. Gibson and her husband, David R. Gibson, all of Darlington, Maryland
Sylvia A. Winterling of Alexandria, Virginia
5 Grandchildren-
Stephen Winterling, Jocelyne Winterling, both of Alexandria, Virginia
John Gibson of Baltimore, Maryland
Andrew Gibson of Glen Rock, Pennsylvania
Kayla Gibson of Berea, Kentucky.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Helen L. Cooley.
Memorial services will be held on Friday, March 18, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at Grace Memorial Episcopal Church, 1022 Main Street, Darlington, Maryland.
The Rector, Reverend Nancy Dilliplane will officiate.
