Charles I. Perry Jr., age 78 years, of Delta, Pa died on Thursday, Jan. 22 2009 at his home. He was the husband of Mary L. (Donaldson) Perry. They celebrated their 48th wedding anniversary on Dec. 3, 2008.

Mr. Perry was born on June 28, 1930 in Washington D.C., a son of the late Charles I. and Minnie (Green) Perry. He had worked as an auto mechanic for many years. He retired from Proctor & Gamble in Hunt Valley in 2000. Mr. Perry had served in the US Navy from 1948-1950. He enjoyed fishing, camping, woodworking and was a fan of NASCAR. Charles was a member of John S. Murphy VFW Post 7130, Delta, Pa and attended the Delta Senior Center. He was a member of Calvary Chapel of Delta.

In addition to his wife he is survived by a son- Charles I. Perry, III of Glen Burnie, MD

Daughters- Connie Crouch and her husband Ernie of Crownsville, MD

Vanessa Matthews of Airville, PA

Linda Taylor and her husband John of Cockeysville, MD

Michele Trent and her husband Chick of Delta, PA

10 grandchildren- Tracie, Jason, Christopher, Nick, Lee, Lacie, Kayla, Linsey, Dewey and Daniel.

2 great-grandchildren- Kayli and Cody

Funeral service will be held on Monday, Jan. 26 at 11:00 Am at Harkins Funeral Home, 600 Main St., Delta, Pa with his pastor - Pastor Doug McClean officiating.

Visitations will be at the funeral home on Saturday, Jan. 24 from 6-8 PM and on Sunday, Jan. 25 from 2-4 PM and 6-8 PM.

Burial will be at Slate Ridge Cemetery.
