Life story prepared by his daughter - Clarence Edward McLaughlin (Bill) born August 13, 1945 in Whiteford, Maryland to the late Clarence T. and Bertha J. McLaughlin. He was the youngest of 3 sons, Daniel McLaughlin and James McLaughlin. Bill died peacefully at home on April 13, 2023.
Bill served his country by joining the Armed Forces (Army) during the Vietnam War, being honorably discharged as Sgt. E5. As such, he was a lifetime member of the former VFW Post #10146 of Delta, Pennsylvania. Except for the time he was stationed out of the country, he resided in Whiteford, Maryland his entire life.
Bill worked as a teamster and then as a security guard at APG-Edgewood Area, where he semi-retired. Not one to sit still and enjoying working with his hands, he worked at a garage before fully retiring.
He loved riding his Harley and rode as a member of the American Legion Riders: Slate Ridge Post #182 of Whiteford, Maryland. Bill also had a fabulous sense of humor & always had a joke ready, even to the end, giving smiles.
Bill was preceded in death by his wife, Denise McLaughlin. He is survived by daughter, Shawna (Thomas Daugherty), Fairbanks, AK. & stepchildren, Meghann (Eric Glaeser), Baltimore, MD., Kristopher Tillett (Jessie), Whiteford, MD.
He was preceded in death by John Tillett and Cynthia L. Murphy.
Services will be held for Bill and Denise. A reception will be held immediately following the service at the American Legion Post #182, 2217 Whiteford Road, Whiteford, MD
