CONSTANCE MARIE MORRIS, of Delta, Pennsylvania died at her home at 4:15 p.m. on Tuesday, December 22, 2009 after a long and courageous battle with cancer. She was 48 years old.
Connie was born in Havre de Grace, Maryland on January 24, 1961 a daughter of the late Lawrence I. and Alice (Barben) Morris.
After graduating from Kennard-Dale High School in 1977, she worked at Aberdeen Proving Ground for 15 years. For the past 17 years, Connie worked with Dr. John Dooley in Delta as his billing and insurance bookkeeper.
A sweet, gentle woman, Connie bravely overcame many health related obstacles in her life. She always lived near Delta and she loved the community and being out and about with everyone. A lover of poetry, photography, surfing the web, and most of all her pets, Connie was an inspiration to all who knew her.
Her memberships include the York Chapter of the Multiple Sclerosis Society, and until her illness, the Delta-Cardiff Volunteer Fire Company and the A.S.P.C.A.
Her church affiliation was with St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church in Pylesville, Maryland.
She is survived by:
Her brother: Lawrence A. Morris and his wife Bonnie of Delta
Her nieces: Joyce Haller and her husband Tim of Delta
Pearl Scarborough and her husband Jim of Pottsboro, Texas
Her companion: Greg Palmer and his sons, Benjamin, Gabriel and Noah
In addition to her mother and father, Connie was preceded in death by her brother Thomas, her sister Joanne Kane and her niece and loving friend, Shelia Wilkerson.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, December 28 at 12:00 p.m. at the Harkins Funeral Home, 600 Main Street, Delta, Pennsylvania.
Her pastor, Reverend A. Henry Kunkel, III will officiate.
Visitation with the family will be held on Monday from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m.
Interment in St. Mary's Cemetery will be private.
Active pallbearers are: Benjamin Palmer, Gabriel Palmer, Noah Palmer, Tim Haller, Alan Morris and Sam Gray
Honorary pallbearers are: Chris Wilkerson and John Ricks
