David Glenn Asbury, Jr., age 64, of Baltimore, Maryland, passed away on Thursday, September 24, 2026, at MedStar Franklin Square Medical Center.

Born on December 5, 1961, in Baltimore, Maryland, David was the son of Kitty Sue Asbury and the late David Glen Asbury, Sr. On May 5, 1990, he married the love of his life, Rebecca K. “Becky” Asbury (née Perkins), with whom he shared more than 36 years of marriage.

David was a First Class Stationary Engineer and worked for Johns Hopkins Applied Physics Laboratory. He earned an associate degree in HVAC and built a career around the skill, knowledge, and hard work that came with his profession.

 Earlier in life, David also helped start a balloon business alongside his family, which would later become Kitty’s Balloons at White Marsh Mall.

More than anything, David was a man of faith. He was affiliated with Christian Fellowship Church of God, loved the Lord, and enjoyed spending time studying Scripture. His faith was an important part of his life and helped shape the man he was.

David was also a man of many interests and talents. He enjoyed writing as an author, metal detecting, wood carving, gardening, and fishing. He was also deeply patriotic and had a great love for American history. Whether he was creating something with his hands, searching for a hidden piece of history, working in the garden, spending time near the water, or studying Scripture, David found meaning in the things that captured his curiosity and brought him joy.

In addition to his beloved wife, Becky, David is survived by his sons, Timothy J. Asbury and Nathaniel J. Asbury; his mother, Kitty S. Asbury; his sisters, Robin S. Smith and Kimberly K. Reger and her husband, Richard A. Reger; his sisters-in-law, Amy E. Weber and her husband, George G. Weber, Martha D. Elliott and her husband, Joseph R. Elliott, and Jenifer R. Miller and her husband, Ricky M. Miller; as well as many beloved nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, David Glen Asbury, Sr., and his brother-in-law, James H. Smith.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, September 30, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at Chase Christian Fellowship Church of God, 12909 Eastern Avenue, Middle River, Maryland 21220. A funeral service will begin at 1:00 p.m., officiated by Pastor Allen Gilliam and Pastor Roger Locklear.

Interment will immediately follow at Holly Hill Memorial Gardens in Middle River, Maryland
