IN LOVING MEMORY OF
David Duane
Fantasie
June 5, 1954 – July 16, 2023
David Duane Fantasie, 69, of Airville, PA, passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, July 16, 2023, surrounded by his loving family. Dave was born in Baltimore, MD, to the late Julius A. and Ruth E. (Fisher) Fantasie. He has been married to his beloved wife, Patricia (Compton) Fantasie, since March 4, 1977.
Dave was a graduate of Dundalk High School and UMBC. He was then able to return to Dundalk High School where he enjoyed a long, rewarding career of teaching many fields of science. When not teaching students, Dave was a family man. He enjoyed nothing more than being around his loving wife, children and grandchildren. He especially enjoyed tending to his vegetable garden and spending time at his cabin in West Virginia. He was incredibly blessed to now own the original cabin where he and his wife fell in love as teenagers. He will be remembered for his quick, witty sense of humor, although at times inappropriate. Everyone enjoyed being in Dave's company. He had an ongoing weekly card game with friends that lasted over 40 years. Faith was an important part of who Dave was. He truly had a servant's heart, always ready to help where needed in any situation. He was a faithful and active member of New Hope Presbyterian Church.
In addition to his loving wife, Dave is survived by his children; Dana Mackison and husband Josh of Seven Valleys, Brady Fantasie and wife Libby, of Etters, and Stephen Fantasie and wife Jessica, of Airville. He is also survived by his grandchildren; Fallyn, Fischer, Miles, Jett, Kai and Stevie Jewel and his sister, Shirlie McGuire, of Brogue.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, July 29, 2023, beginning at 11:00 a.m. at Guinston Presbyterian Church, Guinston Road, Airville, PA. Reverend Doug Royer of New Hope Presbyterian Church and Dr. Daniel Moore of Guinston Presbyterian Church will officiate at the service.
While teaching at Dundalk High, Dave participated in many environmental programs. One of which being the Greening of Dundalk, where he and his students planted over a thousand trees in the greater Dundalk area. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that you plant a tree or other greenery in remembrance of this remarkable man.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Harkins Funeral Home, Inc., of Delta, PA.
