DELBERT C. OVERBAY, age 72 years, died on Wednesday, July 7, 2010 in his home in Conowingo, Maryland. He was the husband of Maxine J. (Barker) Overbay who died on April 16, 1993.
Born on August 1, 1937 in Fawn Grove, Pennsylvania, he was a son of the late Raymond Corbitt and Margaretta (Croy) Overbay. He had worked as a machinist for 26 years at Koppers in Glen Arm, Maryland before retiring with 15 years of service at Aberdeen Proving Ground, Maryland. Mr. Overbay was an avid hunter and fisher, taking pride in his 1951 Chevrolet Bel Air Deluxe that he had owned for many years.
He is survived by:
A son, Dennis A. Overbay of Conowingo, Maryland
A sister, Mary Pennington and a brother, Benny Overbay, both of Bel Air, Maryland.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Doris Gore.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 8, 2010 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Harkins Funeral Home, 600 Main Street, Delta, Pennsylvania.
Funeral services will be on Friday, July 9th at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home with Pastor William Rivers of Bel Forest Baptist Church officiating.
Interment will be in Mt. Vernon Cemetery, Whiteford, Maryland.
Pallbearers will be Matthew Stewart, Joseph Mason, Junior Croy, Craig Barker, Craig Kelso and Steve Overbay.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Bel Forest Baptist Church, 603 Vale Road, Bel Air, Maryland 21014.
