Dodson Clinton Brown, 98, of Darlington, MD, died peacefully surrounded by his loving family, on Sunday April 21, 2024 at the Senator Bob Hooper Hospice House. Dodson was born in Crumpler, NC, to his late parents, Rev. John Clinton and Myrtle Anna (DeBoard) Brown. His loving wife of 70 years, Betty Jane (Rutherford) Brown survives at home.

Dodson will be remembered as an intelligent and faithful man. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. He loved the Lord dearly and was a member of First Baptist Church of Delta since 1946. In his spare time he enjoyed the fellowship and service of Stevenson Lodge #135 AF&AM of Darlington, MD. Earlier in life, Dodson enjoyed hunting and boating.

In addition to his beloved spouse, Dodson is survived by his children; Carolyn J. (Jeff) Ramirez, of Darlington, MD and Donna L. (Phillip) Petty, also of Darlington, MD. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Amanda L. (Brian) Woods, of North East, MD, Joshua A. (Eleanor) Petty, of Perryville, MD, and his great granddaughter, Charleigh Rae Ann Petty. His siblings, Jackson Brown, of Peach Bottom, PA, Clarene Richardson, of Greer, SC, and Rev. Gerald T. Brown, of Darlington, MD, also survive.

In addition to his parents, Dodson was predeceased by his siblings, Milton Brown and George Brown.

Viewings will be held on Thursday, April 25, 2024 from 2:00 pm until 4:00 pm and again from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Harkins Funeral Home, Inc., 600 Main Street, Delta, PA. A funeral service will take place on Friday, April 26, 2024 at 11:00 am at First Baptist Church of Delta, 629 Main Street, Delta, PA, Pastor Jerry Carr will officiate. Interment will take place immediately following the funeral in Bel Air Memorial Gardens, Bel Air, MD.
