Donald Walter Jones, 87, of Street, Maryland, passed away peacefully on March 18, 2026.

Donald, known to family and friends as Don, was born June 24, 1939, in Street, Maryland, to Walter and Susie Jones. He was a proud graduate of North Harford High School.

Don built a distinguished career as a mechanical engineer in the oil industry, working for Getty Oil and retiring 22 years ago from the Delaware City Refinery.

An avid hunter and antique enthusiast, Don loved attending auctions and collecting treasures, especially Lionel Trains. He was an active member of the MA & PA Preservation Society. Don also devoted his time to public service as a volunteer firefighter with the Delta-Cardiff Fire Department and faithfully served in multiple roles at Highland Presbyterian Church, where he was a lifelong member.

A devoted coffee lover, Don cherished his daily trips for Wawa cappuccinos, a ritual he began when the first Wawa opened in Media, Pennsylvania.

Don’s family was the center of his life. He is survived by his beloved wife of 66 years, Sandra, affectionately known as “Sandred”; his son Michael (Debra) and daughter Michele (Vincent); grandchildren Brooks (Stephanie) and Abbie; and great-grandchildren Mia and Ellie. Born an only child, Don embraced a large extended family, leaving behind many nieces and nephews who will fondly remember his warmth and humor.

Don’s life was defined by his love of family, his passion for his hobbies, and his dedication to his community. He will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all who knew him.

A memorial service will be held by the family on Monday, March 23, 2026, beginning at 11:00 a.m. at Highland Presbyterian Church, 701 Highland Road, Street, Maryland 21154.
