DONALD LEE HARDY, SR., 74 years of Brogue, PA, died Monday, January 4, 2016 at the York Hospital. He was the widower of Lucie (Van Dyke) Hardy; they had shared 39 years of marriage at the time of her death on March 1, 2004.

Born in Avoca, WV on May 18, 1941, Mr. Hardy was a son of the late Luther and Betsy Mae (Stoots) Hardy. Mr. Hardy was a machine operator at the Autocraft Box factory in Brogue for many years.

Three children-

Darlene Burchett and her husband Jason of Airville, PA

Donald Hardy, Jr. and his wife Wendy of Airville, PA

Michael L. Hardy of Brogue.

Five grandchildren-

Dakota Hardy, Makayla Hardy, Destiny Brown, Faith Hardy, William Hardy, Dalton Burchett and Nicole Burchett.

Sister-

Shirley Waterfield

He was preceded in death by his siblings: Burl Hardy and June Edmisten.

A graveside service will be held at the Chanceford Cemetery, 1784 Woodbine Road, Airville, PA on Thursday, January 7, 2016 at 11:30am; officiated by Reverend James B. Shuler.

His family has entrusted Harkins Funeral Home with the arrangements.
