DORA E. BURKINS, age 90 years of Shrewsbury, formerly of Delta, Pennsylvania, died on Wednesday, December 7, 2005 at 7:00 AM at the York Hospital in York, Pennsylvania. She had been the wife of the late Warren Burkins who died on June 28, 1982.

Mrs. Burkins was born on January 22, 1915 in Delta, Pennsylvania; she was a daughter of the late Edward W. and Maggie (Tyson) Barbour. She had worked as a floor supervisor for the former Delta Sewing Factory in Delta, Pennsylvania. She was a long time member of the Slateville Presbyterian Church in Delta, Pennsylvania, joining on May 10, 1939. She served as a deacon for many terms and was active in the Ladies Sunday School Class. She also was a member of the Rebekkah Lodge and the Daughters of America. She was an avid reader, loved to travel, and enjoyed playing Bingo. Mrs. Burkins loved flower gardening and was very fond of her cactus plants.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, December 10, 2005 at 2:00PM at Slateville Presbyterian Church, 308 Slateville Road, Delta, Pennsylvania with Pastor Jack Craft officiating.

Visitation will be held at the church one hour prior to the service from 1:00-2:00 PM.

Interment will be in the adjoining church cemetery.
