DOROTHY N. KILGORE, age 98, died on Tuesday, January 10, 2012 at 2:30 a.m. in her home in Delta, PA.

Born on November 5, 1913, she was a daughter of the late S. Reed and Rebecca (Dinsmore) Kilgore.

Miss Kilgore graduated from Delta Public Schools and Millersville State Teachers College and was an elementary school teacher in Harford County, MD for 42 years. She was a life-long member of Slate Ridge Presbyterian Church where she taught Sunday School and sang in the choir for decades. In 1999, Miss Kilgore co-authored PEOPLE AND SYMBOLS OF THE CHURCH, a history of the stained-glass windows of Slate Ridge Presbyterian Church. She enjoyed gardening on her family farm and, in fact, was a Master Gardener. Devoted to her family, friends, neighbors and caregivers, she always graciously welcomed them into her home.

She was preceded in death by her brothers, James R. Kilgore, C. Gilbert Kilgore, Joseph D. Kilgore and Philip R. Kilgore.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 14, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at Harkins Funeral Home, 600 Main Street, Delta, PA.

Friends may call at the funeral home from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 14, 2012.

Interment will be in Slate Ridge Cemetery, Delta, PA
