DOROTHY M. McCALLISTER, age 89 years, died on Tuesday, July 1, 2014 in her Pylesville, Maryland home. She was the wife of Harry T. McCallister, Jr. and on Monday, the 7th, they would have celebrated 68 years of marriage.

Born on June 19, 1925 in Kulpmont, PA, she was a daughter of the late Victor and Mary (Singley) Miller. Mrs. McCallister was a longtime member of Delta United Methodist Church, a volunteer with the Harford County Library Whiteford Branch and a member of Highland Homemakers. Retiring in 1986, she had served as Postmaster for over 20 years at the Pylesville, Maryland location. She enjoyed dancing with the Dublin Square Dancers, bowling, gardening, tending her flowers and reading.

Gary L. McCallister and his wife, Pat of Bear, DE

Mary Ann Sadler of Pylesville, MD

Alan R. McCallister, also of Pylesville, MD

Six grandchildren and ten great grandchildren.

Two sisters-

Ruth Reese and Jessie Ann Butcher, both of the State of Florida

She was preceded in death by a brother, William R. Miller

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, July 8, 2014 at 11 a.m. at Delta United Methodist Church, 213 Main Street, Delta, PA with church minister, Pastor Beth R. Holz and the former pastor, Reverend Judith L. Walker co-officiating.

Interment will be in Slate Ridge Cemetery, Delta, PA.

In lieu of flowers, her family would appreciate memorial contributions to Delta United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 445, Delta, PA 17314.

Serving as pallbearers will be Jason McCallister, Brandon McCallister, Dennis Raspe, Harold Johnson, Michael Blackwell, Zachary Blackwell, Kiley Johnson, Kristen Bennett and Rebecca Raspe.

Honorary pallbearers are Bill Bishop, Jim Poole and Duane Williams.
