Duane C. Magiske, age 62 years, of Delta, Pennsylvania died on Monday, December 28, 2009 at Upper Chesapeake Medical Center in Bel Air, Maryland. He was the loving husband of Christina A. (Brady) Magiske.

Duane was born on April 30, 1947 in Monongahela, Pennsylvania a son of the late Mike and Catherine (Sands) Magiske.He received his Bachelors Degree in Industrial Arts from Eastern Kentucky University and a Masters Degree from Towson University. Duane was a devoted and beloved educator at North Harford High School retiring in 2002 after 35 years.He was a member of the National Education Association. He also built dozens of homes in the Delta area.

Duane's legacy will not only be of courageous strength, which he demonstarted unwaveringly in recent years, but also of generosity and kindness. Whether at school, at work or in his personal life, Duane's brilliance and wit would permeate any situation, enlighten and bring smiles to the faces of all those in his presence. These virtues will be treasured in memories and endure in his students, friends, family and the countless lives he touched.

In addition to his wife he is survived by: A son- Mike Magiske and his wife Kerry of Salt Lake City, Utah.

A daughter- Leanne Miller and her husband Chris of Delta, Pennsylvania

Three Grandchildren- Alyssa and Brianna Miller and Kiera Magiske.

A brother- David Magiske and his wife Linda of Monongahela, Pennsylvania

His dear friend Ben Orlando.

A funeral service will be on Saturday, January 2, 2010 at 2 PM at Harkins Funeral Home, 600 Main Street, Delta, Pennsylvania

Visitation will be at the funeral home on Friday January 1st from 4-6 PM and on Saturday, January 2nd from 1:30 PM - 2:00 PM

Burial will be in Darlington Cemetery.
