EDWIN LEVERE POTEET, age 77 years, of Delta, Pennsylvania died on Monday, November 10, 2008 at York Hospital in York, Pennsylvania. He was the husband of Jean Stewart Poteet who died in 1976.

Mr. Poteet was born on January 3, 1931 in Brogue, Pennsylvania; he was a son of the late Renal and Pauline (Smith) Poteet. He was a lifetime resident of the area and a United States Navy Veteran of the Korean War Era. He was a farmer in addition to working at Farmer's Equipment and Supply in Airville, Pennsylvania.

He was a member of the American Legion Post #182 in Whiteford, Maryland and the John S. Murphy VFW Post #7130 in Delta, Pennsylvania. He enjoyed all types of outdoor activities, especially crabbing and boating.

He is survived by:

Three children-

Peggy Hildebrand and husband, Daryl of Red Lion, Pennsylvania

Patricia Anne Silvey of Airville, Pennsylvania

J. Renal Poteet and wife, Marie of Brogue, Pennsylvania

Fourteen grandchildren, in addition to numerous nieces and nephews

Two sisters-

Janet Minnich and Lois Barnett, both of Delta, Pennsylvania

Visitation will be held on Thursday the 13th from 7 - 9 PM at Harkins Funeral Home, 600 Main Street, Delta, Pennsylvania

Funeral services will be held on Friday at 11:00 AM at Chanceford Presbyterian Church, 56 Woodbine Road, Airville, Pennsylvania with interment in the adjoining cemetery.

Reverend James B. Shuler of Pine Grove Presbyterian Church, Airville, Pennsylvania will officiate.

Pallbearers will be Charles Haga, Charles Snyder, Roger Krouse, Robert Evans, Tom Minnich, Todd Minnich and Kevin Kilgore.
