ELBERT B. WILEY, age 96 years, of Darlington, Maryland died on Wednesday, November 1, 2006 at 3:30 p.m. at Upper Chesapeake Medical Center in Bel Air, Maryland. He was the husband of Grace Mae (King) Wiley who died on September 19, 1991.

Mr. Wiley was born on October 17, 1910 in Caldwell, Ohio a son of the late Emory R. Wiley and the late Minnie (Garvin) Wiley Green. He served in the United States Navy during WWII in China. He moved to Harford County in 1943 from Ohio. He was a civil service employee for Edgewood Arsenal in Harford County for thirty-eight years, retiring in 1970. He was a life member of the Dublin/Darlington VFW Post #10146. He loved gardening, cooking, playing music and dancing. He enjoyed cutting wood and helping his neighbors and friends. He was of the Methodist faith.

Vonda E. Freimiller of Peach Bottom, Pennsylvania

Larry D. Wiley and his wife, Dorothy, of York, Pennsylvania

Walter E. Wiley of Darlington, Maryland

Ten grandchildren, twenty great grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren

A sister, Vera Cunagin of Loveland, Colorado

A brother, William Wiley of Amarillo, Texas

He was preceded in death by:

Son-Duane Wiley; brother-Ollie Wiley Wallace; grandson-Glenn Wiley; granddaughters-Connie Andrews and Tina Freimiller; great grandson Travis Anderson.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, November 6, 2006 at 2:00 p.m. at Harkins Funeral Home, 600 Main Street, Delta, Pennsylvania.

Reverend Dennis Keen of Mt. Calvary Freewill Baptist Church, Perryman, Maryland will officiate.

Military honors will be presented by the American Legion Post # 194, Rising Sun, Maryland during the interment service at Darlington Cemetery, Darlington, Maryland.

Visitation with the family will be held at the funeral home on Sunday evening from 7-9 p.m.
