Elizabeth T. Britton, age 84 years of York, Pennsylvania and formerly of Pylesville, Maryland, died on Friday, December 16, 2005 at York Hospital in York, Pennsylvania. She was the wife of the late Hanlon K. Britton.

Mrs. Britton was born on August 20, 1921 in Pylesville, Maryland; she was a daughter of the late Harry R. and Reatha (McFadden) Tyson. She taught first and second grade for thirty years at the Carroll Manor Elementary School in Baldwin, Maryland, retiring in 1971. Mrs. Britton was a 1941 graduate of the former Towson State Teachers College and received her Masters Degree from The Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, Maryland. She enjoyed reading, fishing and traveling; she had visited forty-nine of the fifty states.

Mrs. Britton was a member of the Fawn United Methodist Church; Penn-Mary Chapter #72, O.E.S., Cardiff, Maryland; the Retired Maryland State Teachers Association; the Towson Alumni Association and the Peach Bottom Chapter of the D.A.C.

She is survived by:

Robert T. Britton and his wife, Kathleen also of Delta, Pennsylvania

She was preceded in death by a son, David D. Britton in 2004. His wife, Karen, resides in Pottstown, Pennsylvania

Funeral services will be held on Friday, December 23, 2005 at 11:00 AM at Harkins Funeral Home, 600 Main Street, Delta, Pennsylvania with Pastor Jane Harrison of Fawn United Methodist Church presiding.

Visitation with her family will be held on Thursday, December 22, 2005 from 7:00 - 9:00 PM at the funeral home.

Interment will be in Fawn Grove Cemetery, Fawn Grove, Pennsylvania.

Pallbearers will be: Ryan Britton, Shawn Britton, Benjamin Britton, James Kauffman, Timothy Fredricks, Terry Clark and Andrea Britton.
