ELLA V. KILGORE, age 91 years, of York, formerly of Delta, Pennsylvania died on Thursday, May 7, 2009 at Misericordia Nursing Center in York.

Born on February 16, 1918 in Pylesville, Maryland, she was the daughter of the late Joseph O. and Lillie Mae (Bennington) Beard. She was the wife of Owen R. Wright who died on October 29, 1973 and had lived in Arlington, Virginia for 40 years where she was a longtime member of the Cherrydale Baptist Church.

She moved to York County in 1982 and was the wife of Philip R. Kilgore who died on March 5, 1999. She was a homemaker, a member of Slate Ridge Presbyterian Church in Cardiff, Maryland, loved collecting dolls and needle work. In 1999, she moved from Delta to Country Meadows in York where she enjoyed spending time with her friends.

Mary M. Koppenhafer of Rockville, Maryland

Susan A. Blevins of Rural Retreat, Virginia

Nine grandchildren and eighteen great grandchildren

Two sisters-

Martha M. Devine of Shrewsbury, Pennsylvania

Josephine B. Glackin of Country Meadows in York, Pennsylvania

Nieces: Rebecca Barrett and Hanna McGinnis and other loving nieces and nephews

She was preceded in death by a sister, Mary Glackin.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, May 10, 2009 from 6:00 - 8:00 PM at Harkins Funeral Home, 600 Main Street, Delta, Pennsylvania.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, May 11th at 11 AM at Slate Ridge Presbyterian Church, 1630 Chestnut Street, Cardiff, Maryland.

Her pastor Reverend Carletta R. Curley and Reverend Henry W. Heaps will officiate.

Interment will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Fawn Grove, Pennsylvania.
