Elma Larue
Roddam
July 2, 1949 – December 24, 2025
Elma LaRue Roddam, age 76, of Street, Maryland, passed away peacefully at her home on December 24, 2025.
Elma was born on July 2, 1949, in Rockingham, Virginia, to the late Maynard and Loveda Coleman. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend whose warmth and kindness touched everyone who knew her.
Elma cherished spending time with her family, especially her son Cliff and his wife Janice; her grandsons Clifton and his wife Rene, Ryan, and Aaron; and she took immense pride in being "Nana" to her great-grandson. Family was always at the center of her life.
She loved the beach, feeding her birds and wildlife, and enjoying time with her best friend, Carolyn. Elma also found joy and fulfillment in her career, working for MCN in Forest Hill as a Research and Development Product Specialist. She deeply valued her work family, and her friendships there—especially with her best friend Lisa—brought her great happiness and many laughs.
Elma was well known for her homemade fudge, strawberry jelly, and cinnamon buns—treats that were loved by all who were lucky enough to enjoy them. She was truly someone everyone loved.
Elma is survived by her son, Howard Clifton Roddam III and his wife Janice, of Darlington, Maryland; three grandchildren, Howard Clifton Roddam IV and his wife Rene, Ryan Michael Roddam, and Aaron Tyler Roddam, all of Darlington, Maryland; and one great-grandson, Howard Clifton Roddam V. She is also survived by her siblings, Arbutus Blankenship of Darlington, Maryland; Maynard "Buster" Coleman, Jr. and his wife Sharon of Nappanee, Indiana; and Daniel Coleman of Elkton, Virginia.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Howard Clifton Roddam, Jr.; her parents, Maynard and Loveda Coleman; and her brother, Arthur Coleman.
