EMELEYN S. VAN HART, age 94 years, of Delta, Pennsylvania died on Wednesday, October 22, 2008 at Manor Care in Dallastown, Pennsylvania. He was the husband of M. Marie Wayne Van Hart who died on January 29, 1997.
Mr. Van Hart was born on April 7, 1914 in York County, Pennsylvania: he was a son of the late John Robert and Mary (Barton) Van Hart. He had worked as a welder for the Wiley Manufacturing Co. in Port Deposit, MD for over thirty years. He was a member of Mt. Nebo United Methodist Church in Delta. He was a lifetime resident of the area, enjoying hunting, fishing, playing cards and shuffle board.
He is survived by:
A daughter-Barbara Miller and her husband, Paul of Cardiff, Maryland
Nine grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren, and five great-great grandchildren
Eight half-sisters:
Arthelia Peyton of Whiteford, Maryland
Gladys Hutton and Nelda Griffith, both of Delta,
Dolores Fisher, Janet Grove, and Eunice Anderson, all of Red Lion, Pennsylvania
Bernice Schuler of Dallastown, Pennsylvania
Hazel Landreth of Springfield, Virginia
A half-brother-Junior Parthree of York, Pennsylvania
Numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his daughters, Doris Mae Johnson and Maxine Smith, and half-brothers, Guy Parthree, Jr., and Ralph Parthree.
Services will be held on Sunday, October 26, 2008 at 2:00 PM at Harkins Funeral Home, 600 Main Street, Delta, Pennsylvania with visitation one hour prior to the service from 1 - 2 PM.
Reverend James B. Shuler of Pine Grove Presbyterian Church, Airville, Pennsylvania will officiate.
Interment will be in Slateville Cemetery, Delta.
Pallbearers will be Stewart Smith, Steve Miller, Keel Johnson, Thomas Edwin Johnson, III; Henry Dehoff and Alvin Jones.
Honorary Pallbearers will be: Junior Parthree, Lester Parthree, Maurice Grove, Marvin Van Hart, Joshua Kohlbus and Jesse Kohlbus.
